There are 57 spacious bedrooms with en suites. Although the bedrooms are furnished to a high standard, we do encourage Residents to bring in their own items to give a sense of familiarity. There are 4 beautifully furnished lounges that boast large flat screen TVs and a variety of chairs and sofas to accommodate Resident’s seating preference. The Royal has 2 dining rooms with Kitchenette facilities accessible to visitors and families for refreshments, including tea, coffee and homemade cakes. There is also pub where residents may entertain their visitors. With a state of the art hair and beauty salon, Residents may avail themselves of our visiting hairdresser. Alternatively, Resident’s personal hairdresser can also use the facility. The corridors are wide, light and airy making much use of natural light via light wells and large windows. Additional to the lounges, the corridors are also furnished to offer alternative resting areas.

Well Done to everyone at The Royal (Doncaster) and Osborne House (Selby) for all your hard work and commitment which has resulted in a Good CQC Rating.
Over the Christmas period, we had a Church and carol service from St. Michaels church and two services by the Salvation Army. The residents really enjoyed singing the carols. We had a local primary school come to sing carols to the residents (and even sang happy birthday to one of our residents) Then one of our residents sang to the children and the event ended with everyone singing Silent night. It was a really emotinal day.We also had the Rossington Male Voice Choir in to sing for our residents, which again was enjoyed very much. One of our residents began to sing “Amazing Grace” and the choir all joined in and sang it with her. We held our Christmas party on 19th Dec, members off staff came in fancy dress and one of our relatives husband came as Santa Claus. The entertainment was a singer who comes regularly to the home and is a favourite with our residents. He sang some Christmas songs and a request he had for “Elvis”. We held a raffle and raised over £90 which will go to the residents comfort fund.
This January we held a Burns’ night meal on the 25th with traditional food and decorations. A singer came to entertain us, our residents loved to sing along and dance with them.
We have “Film afternoon” every Friday, this months films include, “Mary Poppins”, “Laurel and Hardy”, “Nearest and dearest” and “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” The residents love to watch slapstick comedy and sing along with the musicals.
Major Edwin from the Salvation Army comes every two weeks to hold a service which the residents love as after his service he always ends with a sing-a-long c.d. of all the old music hall songs. Rev Norma comes to hold a service once a month from our local church, St. Michaels which some of our residents choose to attend.
